And it’s got a Dhs66 million price tag.
The Dubai Fountain is one of our city’s top attractions, and it’s about to get some competition.
Developers Nakheel have announced that The Pointe, coming to the Palm Jumeirah later in the year, will include a dancing fountain to rival the one at the base of the Burj Khalifa.

A Dhs66 million contract has been signed with one of China’s largest fountain specialists, Beijing Water Design, What’s On Dubai reports. The fountain will cover 12,000 square metres once complete.
Here’s a concept video so you can get an idea of what’s to come:
Impressive, no? Nakheel say the fountain will “delight and entertain” visitors every evening, and from the looks of that, we believe it.
The developer’s chairman, Ali Rashid Lootah, said the signing was a “milestone for The Pointe.”
“[It] means work on its centrepiece – the fountain – is now underway, and we are one step closer to delivering this eagerly-anticipated destination.”
The Dubai Fountain is the number-one rated activity in the emirate on TripAdvisor, which seems fair enough as it’s the world’s largest choreographed fountain.
Set to music from Adele and Michael Jackson, as well as some Arabic classics, the fountain sends 22,000 gallons of water in the air when it’s operational.
It’s an absolute must-see for Dubai visitors, and we’re sure this new offering will be up to the mark.
The Pointe, which was first announced in May, will sit across the bay from Atlantis The Palm. It’s set to cost Dhs800 million to complete, and will be home to over 100 restaurants and shops and a 1.5km promenade as well as those fountains.
We can’t wait to see it.
