And the Queen took to Instagram to share an image of that milestone moment.
HM Queen Rania of Jordan is one of the strongest proponents of education in the Arab world. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos earlier this year, she told CNBC, “Our region has had its fair share of headline-grabbing crises, but one crisis that hasn’t made it to the headlines is the education crisis.”

She also highlighted the fact that 15 million children in the region where she comes from do not attend school, and for those that do, not all of them have access to a high quality of education.
Naturally, when it comes to her own children, their education milestones are some of Queen Rania’s most precious moments and ones that she is proud to share with the world.
A few hours ago, she took to Instagram to share an image of her 17-year-old daughter Princess Salma in her graduation robe. She has just graduated from the prestigious International Academy Amman (IAA) in Jordan.
The series of four images shows the queen apparently getting her daughter ready to attend the ceremony. In a tribute to her mother, Princess Salma can in one of the images be seen placing the square academic cap on her mother’s head.
Princess Salma is the third among Queen Rania’s four children. In June 2014, Princess Salma’s elder sister, the now 23-year-old Princess Iman, graduated from the IAA too before moving Stateside. She is currently enrolled at Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Her elder brother, Crown Prince Hussein, was formerly enrolled at Georgetown as well from where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in international history before moving to the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
We’d reckon that Princess Salma will follow her sibling’s footsteps and now continue her education at Georgetown. That leaves Queen Rania with only one school-going child, the 12-year-old Prince Hashem.

The queen has set up the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development which promotes the access of education for all young people in Jordan, encouraging female employment.
