It was a proper family affair at the races this weekend…
It’s one of the highlights of the city’s social calendar, with millions of dirhams up for grabs for competitors and the style stakes high.
But for HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai World Cup was also an excuse to bring the whole family together for a fun day out.

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai attended the event—which is one of the world’s richest horse races—on Saturday, and brought his youngest generation along too.
The royal was accompanied at the Meydan Racecourse by his daughter, 10-year-old Al Jalila, who helped collect Godolphin’s trophy after the Maktoum family stable’s Thunder Snow picked up the US$10 million prize.
Sheikh Mohammed also brought along his youngest, six-year-old Zayed, on the day, and was captured in a touching snap surrounded by his son and grandchildren.
Little Zayed really got in the spirit of things too, collecting the Dubai Turf trophy for Godolphin’s Benbatl.
He was picked up by elder brother Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, so he could lift the cup as he stood on the podium (check out the clip, it’s seriously adorable):
Both Zayed and Al Jalila are avid horse-lovers, and can often be seen riding in images shared by their parents.
In fact, the whole family are keen equestrians – Princess Haya was even the first woman to represent Jordan in international equestrian sport, and the only woman to win a medal in the Pan-Arab Equestrian Games.
