There are many rules and regulations to follow when residents leave the house in order to ensure the health and safety of the public.

For example, masks must be worn at all times, temperatures must be checked upon entries to malls, supermarkets and other retailers and you must not leave the house between 10pm and 6am.

However, what about when you return home after you have been out? Well, in order to ensure the safety of the public even in their own homes, Dubai Police have released guidelines of what people should do when they return home.

Here’s the nine tips authorities shared:

  • Avoid touching anything when you have returned home and disinfect surfaces you have touched.
  • Remove your shoes and leave them outside if possible and ensure they have been disinfected.
  • Leave all items including bag, wallet, keys, phone and purchases by your door and make sure they are all disinfected.
  • Sterilise items whilst wearing gloves.
  • Get rid of any plastic bags.
  • Disinfect your shoes.
  • Get rid of the gloves and face mask you’ve used.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Remove clothes to wash them.
