Celebrate World Yoga Day
We know, we know — there’s an international day of everything now. But this Thursday is dedicated to yoga worldwide, and we can’t think of a better way to mark the occasion than with an hour of jivamukti yoga led by Dubai’s own Dina Ghandour. Expect a well-paced, balanced class. You’ll sweat, but you won’t pass out. Better yet? It’s free. See you on the mat.
Jivamukti yoga with Dina Ghandour, Trident Wellness Centre, Dubai Marina. Free. 6pm Thursday June 21. Tel: (04) 441 6287. 136point1.ae.
Feast on dim sums
If we’re being honest, we’ve been tempted more than once to make a meal of the dim sums which usually arrive as starters when we visit our favourite Chinese restaurants in the city. Head to Sofitel’s Dim Sum Night and you’ll get a chance to stuff yourself silly with an all-you-can-eat dim sum offer at its Hong Loong restaurant. Chicken sui mui and shrimp dumplings have us wishing that it was Thursday evening already. With unlimited fried wontons and lamb rolls included, no one’s leaving hungry.
Sofitel The Palm Dubai, East Crescent Road, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, 6pm-8pm. Dhs160 per person. Tel: (o4) 455 5656. sofitel-dubai-thepalm.com

Nab a bargain
Time to speak nicely to your credit card. Dubai’s annual summer shopping fest is back, and you can expect six weeks of deep discounts across the city’s malls. We’re clearing out our wardrobes in anticipation.

Laze poolside all afternoon
Yes, summer is officially here. But use that as the only excuse you need to kick back and spend an entire day poolside this Friday. You could either book yourself access to only the pool, beach and facilities at Summersalt, or you could book a separate package that includes all of that plus an unlimited food and beverages. Pro tip: Stick around for a little longer after brunch ends at 4pm. Happy Hour begins soon after.
Summersalt Beach Club, Jumeirah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah, Jumeirah Road, Umm Suqeim 3, Dubai, 10am-4pm. Dhs595 per person for pool and beach access along with unlimited food and beverages and Dhs250 for only access. Tel: (04) 366 7680. jumeirah.com

See a seriously stylish film
We’ve been loving its red carpets, and now, Ocean’s 8 is out in UAE cinemas. This time around, the heist movie franchise gets a very stylish update — Sandra Bullock leads a team to rob the Met Gala in New York. Rihanna guest stars, which is really all we needed to hear. You’ll find us in the popcorn line.
Various locations across Dubai, tickets from Dhs36.75.
Party, brunch, party some more
It’s time you head to the Saturday Summer Brunch at Zero Gravity that’s really one big party. There’s an all-inclusive pool and beach brunch with views of the Marina skyline with its soaring skyscrapers on one end and the open blue on the other. Get there early and you’ll be able to score a single bed for free too.
Zero Gravity, Dubai Marina, Skydive Dubai Drop Zone, Al Sufouh Road, Dubai, 12pm-5pm. Dhs249 for women and Dhs299 for men. Tel: (04) 399 0009. 0-gravity.ae
