Over the weekend, it was announced by Dubai Tourism that returning residents will be required to quarantine for 14 days.

This can be done either in their home or in a hotel. For those who are having to quarantine themselves for 14 days in a hotel, this will be at the expense of the returning residents.

Upon check-in to their selected hotels, passengers will have to stay in their rooms throughout the entire 14-day stay, will have to clean their rooms and wear face masks and gloves where required.

Rooms should be booked in advance, and upon check-in an extra charge of a deposit may be required. This is in the case a COVID-19 test comes back positive and the room will need to be totally disinfected. However, these costs are not to exceed Dhs200, according to Dubai Tourism.

As for eating, since returning residents will not be allowed to leave their hotel rooms for 14 days, food will be delivered directly to their doors. There will be meal packages which guests can opt into, or food can be ordered to the hotel which will be brought to rooms, but it must be paid for in advance.

Throughout their hotel stays if any returning passengers do test positive for COVID-19, they will be taken to hospital or taken to hotels which are currently acting as isolation centres – Occidental Dubai Production City, Occidental Al Jaddaf and Media Rotana in Barsha Heights.

Here’s the five hotels those returning can book to stay in during their quarantine stint.
