We’re not robots and not all of us were blessed with the work ethic of Richard Branson (unfortunately). Luckily, in the words of Apple, “there’s an app for that”.
So if you were looking for something to give you that little extra productivity nudge – or just to help you get your daily whatnots in order – check out five of our favourite apps for staying on track with all that life admin.
30/30
This is an app that allows you to set up a list of tasks and allocate a length of time in which to complete each one. Once the timer starts, you’ll be alerted when you should be done with one task and on to the next. Use this to plan when you need to take out the trash, finish that presentation, answer your emails and more.
Forest
Quite possibly the cutest productivity app out there. The concept is simple with this one – whenever you want to work and stay focused, open the app and ‘plant’ a tree.
While you work the tree will grow, but beware! If you exit the app to do anything else on your phone, the tree will die. Every tree you grow gets planted in your forest so the harder you work, the nicer your forest will be. The app will also provide detailed stats on your productivity.

Evernote
Evernote serves as a one-stop office app. It allows you to create nots and to-do lists, clip web articles you want to keep, take and save photos alongside project notes, record voice memos, scan documents and share it all with your co-workers and friends. There’s a reason Evernote is the biggest office app out there.
Clear
This is a to-do app that helps you organise every aspect of your life via lists. Log what it is you need to do and prioritise each task, then have the app remind you so you’ll never forget the important stuff (think of it like a real-life Remembrall from Harry Potter). The interface is quick and intuitive, making it super easy to whip up a daily to-do. Now all you have to do is stick to it.
Get it from the App Store.
EasilyDo
Think of this as a personal assistant squashed into a phone. EasilyDo will give you access to everything from public transit times, directions to and from places, weather forecasts, to-do lists, boarding passes, hotel confirmations and more.
It can automate posting ‘Happy Birthday’ messages on your friends’ Facebook walls, can auto-send text messages upon reaching certain locations, RSVP to invites and even congratulate LinkedIn contacts on their new job position.
