With venues, restaurants, bars and hotels opening up again in Dubai, after being in lockdown for the better part of three months it might feel overwhelming in choosing where to go.

Just imagine if you’d been in lockdown the entire time you’ve been in Dubai and had no idea where to go when restrictions lifted. Well, that was the exact situation I was in. Up until last weekend I hadn’t been out in the city at all, because I moved here just as lockdown started.

So, where did I decide to venture out to on my first trip out in this famous city? One of the most iconic spots people know in Dubai – the Atlantis hotel on The Palm. In particular, I paid a visit to their beach club, WHITE Beach, as part of their new daycation package. This hotspot opened in November last year as part of the hotel’s $100 million revamp project and let’s just say the proof is in the pudding with that revamp.

With that, here’s four reasons why this beach hotspot should be your go-to weekend hangout this summer.

The venue

It might seem like an obvious one, but trust me when I say the venue speaks for itself. There’s a plethora of spots to choose to lounge on, sofas to congregate in groups (socially distanced, of course), a beachside bar, the ultimate infinity pool to cool down in (which you can enjoy when it’s open) and the beach right on your doorstep.

Not only that, you can chow down on delicious food beachside, whilst also enjoying a refreshing drink.

The food

Whether you fancy eating beachside or paying a visit to the WHITE restaurant just know the food on offer is second to none. As part of the daycation package I was on,  I was lucky enough to choose from a three-course menu where I had the fresh quinoa salad with dried cranberry and roasted apple along with the cauliflower arancini with parmesan cheese and fresh truffle. For the main course, I opted for the chargrilled baby chicken with tomato cucumber and pomegranate salsa. To finish off, while the dessert menu was oh-so-tempting to choose from, I went for the assorted fruit platter for something light to finish on. Oh, and I can’t forget the amazing cocktails either.

The package

The daycation package overall was incredible. As the name would hint, it’s just like a staycation but for the day. Check-in at 10am, head up to your room to relax for around half an hour and then you can head down to the beach. After a couple of hours of lying in the sun working on your tan, it’s easy to work up an appetite which is where your three-course meal comes into play.

Once your leisurely socially distanced lunch is over, head back to the beach for a few more hours in the sun, plus a few drinks if you fancy. If you’re the type of person that likes an afternoon siesta – myself included – head back up to your room to enjoy the luxuries of the hotel for a few more hours, then check out by 7pm. The package includes a deluxe room for the day, a sun lounger on the beach and a three-course set lunch menu at WHITE restaurant for just Dhs295 per person – trust me it’s entirely worth it.

The other offers

If you perhaps aren’t too fussed about the daycation aspect, then you’re in luck as WHITE Beach has brought back its brunch, ladies day and pool passes.

Just in time for the weekend, you can enjoy brunch at WHITE Beach this weekend. Not only will you enjoy an unlimited Mediterranean spread at your table, but you also have beach access. Available every Saturday from 1pm to 5pm, at Dhs249 with soft drinks; Dhs299 with house drinks for ladies; Dhs349 with house drinks for men.

If you just fancy lounging by the pool and beach then the pool passes on offer are the ones for you. On Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, it’s Dhs150 to spend the whole day at WHITE Beach, and on Fridays its Dhs300. Included you’ll get a sun lounger, DJ entertainment, access all day to the beach and pool, and the entry fee is redeemable on food and drinks. Win, win, win.

And if you’re in the mood for a mid-week pick-me-up with your best girlfriends, WHITE Beach’s Ladies Day is the perfect place to do so. For Dhs150 ladies can enjoy unlimited drinks and complimentary snacks every Tuesday from 12pm to 4pm. If you’re a bloke looking to join the entry free is also Dhs150 which is redeemable on food and drinks.

Need I say more why this is the place to be this summer?
