Apart from breathing apps that saw an increase in search by 219 percent, there is one method that we are very keen to see grow in Dubai – Sound Bath Healing.

The search for this style of meditation has grown by 285 percent and could be an ideal practice for those who struggle to switch off their minds. Bathing in sounds from crystal bowls, or instruments tuned to specific frequencies, can enhance reflection process.

Sounds help relax and ease tension and are already being implemented in yoga and meditation classes in Dubai. Zoga Yoga in Downtown Dubai offers Tibetan Sound Healing meditation for one hour. A sequence of singing bowls are played, each one keyed to the energy centres (chakras) of the body, where sound nourishes the nervous system allowing the entire body to unwind.

Inspire Yoga at Al Manara has Yin Aroma Yoga which includes a 20-minute sound bath meditation. “Sound baths facilitate a shift in the brainwave state from our beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness). Some may be able to reach theta (meditative state) and even delta (where internal healing can occur).”
