The timeline just got that much more confusing…
When Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik parted ways in March, their legions of fans were slightly devastated. The half-Palestinian supermodel and British-Pakistani singer seemed like the real deal, and they’d been together two years. It was rough.
Since then though, it very much looks like they’re back on. Hadid posted an image of herself snuggled up with Malik after the New York Ocean’s 8 premiere in the first week of June, and the pair never really stopped getting photographed together on the street.

Now, Hadid has posted an image to her Instagram story that adds another layer of confusion to exactly how long they were broken up for.
The picture was taken backstage at a Moschino photoshoot on May 9, and shows Hadid and Malik looking very much together.
So they split in March, were photographed together in New York in April, and were clearly hanging out in May, before getting Instagram official (again) in June. Were those breakup statements all for nothing?

There, Malik says he hates going to events — “to do the self-indulgent Look at me, I’m amazing thing on the red carpet, it’s not me” — and that he’s still very close with Yolanda Hadid, Gigi’s mum.
When that interview was conducted, Malik said he and Hadid were in touch, but wouldn’t be drawn on the nature of their relationship.
“We’re adults. We don’t need to put a label on it, make it something for people’s expectations,” he told the magazine.
Malik also credits Hadid with getting him back on the straight and narrow after a period of wild nights out after he released his first solo record.
“I had a very negative outlook on things. That might have been adolescence or testosterone or whatever… was running through my body at the time,” he says. “She’s helped me to look at things from a positive angle.”
Well, we don’t know exactly what’s going on here, but we wish Hadid and Malik all the best.
