There were ruffles and royals aplenty as the label beloved by A-listers took to the Arab Fashion Week catwalk.
It was the closing show of Arab Fashion Week’s opening night… and boy, it did not disappoint.
Womenswear label Marchesa paraded a dazzling array of its Autumn/Winter 17 gowns down the Meydan Hotel catwalk, with local fashionistas and even royals sitting front and centre.
Co-founder and designer Georgina Chapman, who established the glitzy label with Keren Craig back in 2004, even jetted into Dubai for the occasion, and took a bow at the show’s close.

Marchesa, which has been sported by Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz (to name but a few), is the guest of honour at the fourth edition of Arab Fashion Week.
After showcasing spectacular ready-to-wear gowns on May 16, the New York-based brand will also present its ethereal bridalwear on May 20.
The Arab Fashion Week headline appearance coincides with Marchesa’s Middle Eastern debut, with the label opening its first-ever standalone boutique in Dubai Mall earlier this year.
The fashion week shows also allow shoppers to buy off-the-runway looks at a Marchesa pop-up in the Meydan Hotel, as well as schedule VIP fittings over the four-day event.
But even if you can’t afford to buy, Tuesday night’s show gave the style set an up-front glimpse at the label’s frothy and uber-feminine creations.
With no further ado, here are the highlights of Marchesa’s A/W show…
