Here’s a way to see 2018 from new heights.

It has been decorating the horizon around Zabeel Park ever since construction began in 2013.

And now visitors can finally scale the Dubai Frame, after the landmark edifice officially opened its doors on January 1.

The 150-metre-high structure, embellished in gold to look like a gigantic picture frame, boasts panoramic views of old and new Dubai from its 100-square-metre bridge.

The Frame also houses a museum on the ground floor that explores Dubai’s evolution from fishing village to sprawling metropolis, an attraction which HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum toured last week.

During his pre-opening visit, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai described the Frame as “an elegant architectural feat”, according to Dubai Media Office.

The 93-metre-wide structure was designed by Fernando Donis, the architect behind Dubai’s Porsche Design Towers and the Dubai Renaissance Tower.

The Frame is open from 10am to 7pm daily, with tickets priced at Dhs50 for adults, Dhs30 for kids, and free for people of determination and those under the age of three.

Guests will be able to travel up the attraction by elevator, before enjoying panoramic views of the city from a glass-panelled bridge that connects the two towers.

On one side, visitors can look out over of the older parts of the city, such as Deira, Umma Harare and Karama, and on the other the vistas are of a more modern, built-up section of Dubai.
