Kate Middleton, an ordinary girl, married her Prince Charming, or rather, Prince William, the future king of England, in 2011. Their love story is like something straight out of a Disney film.
When Prince William announced his engagement to Kate Middleton, people from all over the world were glued to the news as a fairy tale unfolded. The well-loved Prince had proposed to his university sweetheart with the iconic sapphire engagement ring previously owned by his mother Diana, Princess of Wales.
In an attempt to keep their private life out of the limelight, the loving couple secretly got engaged during a three-week holiday in Kenya and the sentimental piece of jewellery that sealed the momentous event was a 12-carat oval stone surrounded by a cluster of 14 diamonds and set in 18-carat white gold.
