Think your neighbourhood is the best? Well, it’s time to put that to the test.

A new survey conducted by ServiceMarket has quizzed more than 1,400 Dubai residents to discover which neighbourhood has the most satisfied residents in the city.

Those who took part were asked to rate their home and their neighbourhood on attributes including the size and layout of their home, the quality of facilities, the amount of traffic, sense of community, availability of public transport and value for money.

The results may shock you…

WHERE ARE THE BEST NEIGHBOURHOODS IN DUBAI?

Motor City was voted the best neighbourhood in Dubai, with an overall rating of 4.39 out of 5.

Why? The size and layout of Motor City’s properties, value for money, parking availability and perceived level of safety all scored well.

In second place was The Greens with a score of 4.23, ranking highly in terms of perceived levels of safety, pet friendliness, walking possibilities and green areas.

The top 10 rated areas are as follows:

  1. Motor City -4.39
  2. The Greens – 4.21
  3. Emirates Living – 4.15
  4. Oud Metha – 4.11
  5. JLT – 4.02
  6. Jumeirah/Umm Suqeim – 4.02
  7. Discovery Gardens – 4.00
  8. Silicon Oasis – 4.00
  9. Downtown/Business Bay 3.99
  10. Dubai Sports City – 3.97

WHERE ARE THE WORST NEIGHBOURHOODS IN DUBAI?

The lowest ranked area was Dubailand, which had poor public transport availability, proximity to shops and restaurants, as well as poor activity and entertainment options.

The top 10 worst areas are as follows: 

  1. Dubailand – 3.15
  2. International City – 3.16
  3. Al Nahda – 3.44
  4. Al Quoz/Al Khail – 3.45
  5. Al Warqa – 3.46
  6. Satwa 3.48
  7. JVC/JVT – 3.54
  8. Jebel Ali – 3.56
  9. Al Mamzar – 3.56
  10. Deira – 3.57

WHAT ELSE DID THE SURVEY DISCOVER?

The area that rated the highest in availability of public transport was Satwa, followed by the Marina and JBR area.

Sheikh Zayed Road ranked the lowest in terms of child friendliness and pet friendliness, as well as the lowest in noise issues.

Overall, people feel pretty safe across Dubai, with the total average rating for safety being 4.34 out of 5.
