Don’t tell ’em…
Meydan superclub Drai’s Dubai only opened in February, and they’ve already hosted names like The Game, T.I., Craig David and Trey Songz. American R&B artist Jeremih is next up on that impressive list, and we have to say, he might be the most exciting one yet. With hits like Don’t Tell ‘Em, Down On Me and Oui to his name, Jeremih is a guaranteed good time. You could even say this was Paradise… Ladies will also be treated to an open bar until 1am, and Jeremih is playing again on Saturday night at White Dubai.
Jeremih, Drai’s Dubai, Meydan, 10pm to 3am, Thursday April 12 and White Dubai, Meydan, 11pm to 4am, Saturday April 14. draisdxb.com, whitedubai.com.
Sing your way into the weekend
If you’re sick of the classic ‘closest bar to work’ Thursday evening, you’ve got to get to Lucky Voice. The Barsha Heights karaoke spot has just launched an end-of-the-week deal we plan on taking up ourselves. Dhs99 per person will get you a private karaoke booth and two hours of free-flowing bubbles – just make sure you’re travelling in a group of four or more.
Lucky Voice, Grand Millennium, Barsha Heights, Dubai. Two-hour packages valid from 6-10pm, Dhs99 per person. Groups of four or more required. Tel: (800) 58259. luckyvoice.ae.

Try a new DIFC favourite
If you haven’t yet made it down to recent DIFC opening Beefbar, here’s your chance. Seven nights a week the restaurant offers three dishes from its Taste of Kobe street food menu, along with a glass of grape or hops, for Dhs220 per person. Think beef gyoza and some very sophisticated pizza options. Sure, you’ve got to be in and out before 9pm, but we’ll take that as a condition.
Taste of Kobe, Beefbar Dubai, Al Fattan Currency House, DIFC, Dubai. Valid 7-9pm, seven days. Dhs220 per person. Tel: (04) 352 2223. dubai.beefbar.com.
Head to The Palm for staycay
Who among us hasn’t stepped out of brunch at 4.30pm and wondered what to do with themselves next? We’re thinking the ideal answer is ‘head back up to our super-plush hotel room,’ and this deal will allow you to do just that. Think sea views, breakfast for two, and a spot at Mucha Lucha Brunch at Luchador. There’ll even be a live Latino band to keep you entertained. Amazing.
Eat, Stay, Love at Aloft Palm Jumeirah, East Crescent, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Dhs999 for two including Luchador brunch, valid Fridays. Tel: (04) 247 5555. aloftpalmjumeirah.com.

Take in some views from the top
This is the definition of a photo opportunity. Down at JBR, there’s a 40-metre high pop-up cafe called Flying Cup Dubai which will give you the chance to enjoy your afternoon coffee on high. This is one recent opening we can’t wait to check out. It’s Dhs80 for adults and Dhs40 for 4-12 year olds, which includes one soft drink. Expect to spend about 15-20 minutes strapped in.
Flying Cup, JBR, next to Roxy Cinema, Sat to Weds 10am to 12am, Thurs and Fri 10am to 1am. Tel: (050) 414 0655. Flyingcup.ae
