For when your invite to Windsor Palace gets lost in the post.
The countdown is very much on for American actress Meghan Markle’s wedding to Britain’s Prince Harry, and we’re starting to make our plans.
Unaccountably, we don’t seem to have received our royal wedding invitations, and at less than a week to go, it seems a bit late now.

Did you know that Meghan Markle and Amal Clooney share a hairdresser?
Not to worry. Here’s where you can watch the May 19 proceedings without leaving Dubai.
Al Fayrooz at Jumeirah Al Qasr
An event like this needs regal surroundings, so we’re thinking the palatial Jumeirah Al Qasr is a winner. Al Fayrooz is putting on a royal afternoon tea featuring miniature wedding cakes for each guest, and 60-inch TV screens broadcasting the event live. They’re promising an elegant, tasteful event—sounds Queen-approved to us.

Bread Street Kitchen at Atlantis The Palm
Top British chef Gordan Ramsey’s Dubai outpost of Bread Street Kitchen seems like an appropriate place to watch Prince Harry and Meghan make their vows, and they’re putting on a brunch to celebrate. On the menu will be beef wellington (as well as a vegetarian option), tamarind spiced chicken wings, Yorkshire puddings, and wagyu sliders. There’ll be wedding cake and Eton mess for dessert, and prizes for best-dressed guests. We’re in it for the ice cream bar.

This American barbecue spot is celebrating the transatlantic nature of the royal wedding with a British-meets-BBQ brunch. Expect cheesy jalapeño scones, coronation chicken wings, and smoked brisket beef vol-au-vents, plus much more. There’ll be a full afternoon tea, and the dress code is ‘something old, borrowed, or blue’ in keeping with the wedding theme.
