We’re sure we’re not the only ones who have spent half of today daydreaming about a tropical beach. White sands, blue water, forgetting what day of the week it is… It’s all very appealing.

If you’re in the mood to research a holiday, we’ve got a couple of suggestions for you. Thanks to a new memorandum of understanding, two stunning Pacific Island nations are now visa-free for UAE nationals.

While Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands aren’t the easiest spots to get to from here, they are absolutely gorgeous. If you’re headed to Australia or New Zealand, we’d thoroughly recommend tacking on a trip to one of them.

Here’s a shot from the western end of the Solomon Islands. Stunning.

And here’s a moment from Papua New Guinea. That’s the kind of pic you set as the background to your phone and get emotional when you look at it while you’re stuck in traffic.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with representatives from both nations last week, the Khaleej Times reported. The reciprocal arrangements aimed to further ties between the UAE and the island countries.

Where else do UAE passport holders not need visas?

Last month, according to the Khaleej Timessimilar deals were signed with Vanuatu, Saint Lucia and El Salvador. If you’re currently calculating how much annual leave you have left, we’re sure you’re not alone. Those are tempting destinations.
