Nab a bargain
Here’s one for the shoppers (so, pretty much everyone reading this). Dubai’s three-day super sale is back for another year, and it’s a goodie. With up to 90 per cent off and hundreds of brands participating, you’re bound to find several somethings to catch your eye. Our picks? & Other Stories, Calvin Klein, Diane Von Furstenberg, MAC, and Maje are all participating. We’d recommend hitting the shops early, though. You know The Dubai Mall is going to be even more packed than usual come Saturday afternoon.

Friday 11
Get a taste of the French Riviera
You’ll feel like you’ve boarded a flight to Europe (without leaving Dubai) at Nikki Beach’s C’est la Vie bash this weekend. The beach club is celebrating its sister locations in St Tropez and Monte Carlo with a French-themed spread of food, drinks and music. Sounds like a perfect way to laze away a Friday, if you ask us.
Nikki Beach Dubai, Pearl Jumeirah, Dubai, 11am to 9pm. Prices start from Dhs300 for single sun loungers (with Dhs250 redeemable on food and drink). Tel: (o4) 376 6162. nikkibeach.com.
Try Nick & Scott’s new venture
English pub The Lion in The H Hotel is now under the stewardship of top chefs Nick Alvis and Scott Price of Folly fame, and they’ve launched a rolling brunch to say hello. It’s a three-hour package running between 2pm and 9pm, but we’d recommend heading down around 3pm if you want to catch some live music. With sharing starters like sausage rolls and chicken wings followed by fish and chips with mushy peas, it’s classic comfort food served by staff who want you to enjoy yourselves. Another nice touch? The standard package includes trio of cocktails. Just make sure you save room for the apple crumble…
The Lion by Nick & Scott, The H Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, brunch every Friday, 2pm to 9pm. Dhs300 per person with house beverages. Tel: (04) 359 2366. theliondubai.ae.

Chill and thrill at a new attraction
It might be heating up as summer approaches, but Dubai’s latest opening should help cool you down. Laguna water park opens today at beachfront destination La Mer, and it sounds like it has something for everyone, with rides, an infinity pool, peninsular cabanas, beach access, and several eateries. Whether you make a day or it with the family or just want to catch a few rays from a shaded sun bed, now’s the time to check it out with a Dhs99 opening offer for those that live in the UAE…

Try a summer menu in a wintery spot
While you probably won’t want a spot by that open fire with temperatures approaching 40 degrees, popular Madinat Jumeirah spot Publique has a lot else to recommend it. For summer, they’re launching steakhouse menu that will tempt anyone who’s keen on a good cut of meat. Prices vary, but each meal comes with a side, sauce and a drink. The menu starts at Dhs125 per person.
Publique, Madinat Jumeirah, daily, from Dhs125. Tel: (04) 430 8550. publique.ae.
