Head to a 90s-style house party

The House Party Bar has just opened in the Fairmont Dubai, and we have a feeling it’s going to be our new favourite hangout. Designed to look like an actual house from the 90s, the venue embraces the simple joys of a time before cellphones existed and when Justin and Britney were still a thing. Think red cups, arcade games, pizza served in boxes, and a playlist full of pop.

The House Party Bar, Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, open daily from 6pm til late. Tel: (050) 995 5400. @thehousepartybar

Make the most of a cheese-lover’s deal

The Grape Escape is a little gem of a wine bar, tucked away inside The Hilton on The Walk at JBR. They have an end-of-the-week deal called L’apres-ski Thursdays where you get unlimited raclette, fondue, cheese and charcuterie, all washed down with a glass of grape, for Dhs129 per person.

The Grape Escape, Hilton Dubai The Walk, JBR, Thursdays, 5pm to 1am, Dhs129. Tel: (04) 318 2319. hilton.com

Party by the pool at a season closing party

Nikki Beach is another one of our favourite spots which is shutting up shop for the summer months – but not before one final blowout weekend. The Pearl Jumeira hotspot will open from 11am to 8pm on Friday and Saturday for two days of pool parties, with beats provided by Nikki Beach’s resident DJs.
