We can’t wait to see the view from the top.
Regular visitors to The Beach at JBR will have been keeping an eye on the progress of Ain Dubai, the huge ferris wheel that’s going to be the centrepiece of Bluewaters Island.
Like the London Eye, it’ll offer a fabulous view of the city, with 48 pods and a total capacity of 1,500 guests.

Did you know you’ll be able to dine on the world’s largest ferris wheel?
The attraction has been under construction for a little while now, which seems fair enough to us. This isn’t the sort of thing you can knock up in an afternoon.
Now, though, the final section of the wheel is in place. As this photo from the Dubai Media Office shows, it looks pretty spectacular.

Don’t start queueing quite yet, though. While the wheel is round now, it’s not finished yet, and won’t be until later in the year.
When it’s ready, each pod will have room for 40 people, and some will be devoted to fine dining. We’re thinking that means you get to have a couple of goes around as the loop will take 48 minutes.
And yes, six of those pods will be licensed. Can you imagine a more charming spot for a sundowner? We’re making plans already.
The rest of the Dhs6 billion Bluewaters Island project is shaping up, too. In time, it’ll be home to a Madame Tussauds wax museum, as well as 600 waterfront homes, shops and hotels.
Where else to get the best view of it all than from that observation wheel?
