We’ve spent many an afternoon lounging by the pool but Nasimi Beach will not reopen in its current form after the summer.

It’s one of Dubai’s most iconic beach clubs, but Nasimi Beach is preparing to close its doors – well, temporarily.

The leisure spot and nightlife venue has revealed it will not reopen in its current form after May, What’s On Dubai reports, though it is set to get a redesign as part of Atlantis The Palm’s three-year Dhs367 million makeover.

The club has hosted plenty of parties, ladies’ days and gigs in its eight years, and is planning to go out with a bang with a farewell bash on Friday May 4.

British singer and producer Example is jetting in to perform at the day-to-night party, which will begin at noon and is free to attend.

There’ll be beach volleyball, live music and paddle boarding along with sets from resident DJs and selected beverages for Dhs30 all night.

While this will mark the end of Nasimi as we know it, the club’s Facebook page promises “an exciting new chapter” will launch in the near future.

The makeover forms part of Atlantis’ wider refurbishment, which the hotel announced in 2017.

Over the next three years, the five-star hotel’s 1,539 rooms will be redesigned to “deliver a fresh look and feel”, the Palm Jumeirah hotspot said in a statement at the time.

The new-look rooms will feature sea-inspired printed carpets, hints of coral in the colour scheme, and 49-inch flat screen TVs.

The balconies and bathrooms won’t be forgotten either, with the latter getting Greek Didyma marble sinks and free-standing tubs.
