Fancy sleeping on the sand in these Insta-worthy multicoloured tents?

We’re fortunate to have a plethora of five-star suites on our doorstep here in Dubai, for when we need some high-end R&R.

However for those seeking something a bit more laid-back, a newly launched beach retreat looks set to make you feel like you’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of Dubai.

And the best news? You don’t even have to venture out of the city.

Banan Beach is situated in Jebel Ali, close to the Jebel Ali Kart Track and Jebel Ali Golf Resort, and offers an ocean-side camping experience that might have you feeling like you’re a million miles away.

The rustic location says it’s “bringing the basics back”, offering 47 pared-back but picturesque tents on its sandy shores.

For those who want a little more space, there are also five chalets that each sleep six and come with a small private pool.

The chalets start from Dhs1,000 a night, while the two-person tents start from Dh350 a night.

You don’t have to stay overnight either, with beach passes available for Dh100.

Whether you’re dropping by for the day or spending a whole weekend, you can take advantage of the swings and hammocks over the water, a BBQ area and 12 water sport activities (which do cost extra, depending on what you choose).

There’s also a mini mart, restaurant and wi-fi on site (so you don’t have to go completely dark for your stay).

If you want to drop by to check it out before booking a night, you could sign up for the weekly Wednesday beach yoga class, which kicks off at 8pm and costs Dhs80 per person.

We’re already feeling more zen just thinking about a trip…
