The gown took three months to make and Elisa accessorised her carpet-look with a clutch from her sister-in-law’s brand Charlotte Olympia, bearing the word “Cairo”.

Arwa Al Banawi launched her eponymous label in 2015. The Saudi designer grew up in Jeddah but was raised in Switzerland. She moved to Dubai in 2012 whilst she studied short courses in Fashion Design at LCF.

She credits her fashion-savvy family for her inspiration. “My mum wore Chanel pieces that were designed by Coco herself and vintage Yves Saint Laurent. My father loved bespoke suiting and my grandfather owned cool, retro Versace shirts,” she told Emirates Woman.

A string of celebs from the Middle East have descended on the Egyptian resort town for the second edition of the El Gouna film festival, including Lebanese singer Maya Diab, actress Carmen Lebbos andPalestinian-Algerian actress Nesreen Tafesh

We’re expecting big things from Arwa Al Banawi…
