Plus some other recent red carpet hits from the Middle East.
We don’t usually get this excited about a superhero movie – no shade, just not our thing – but the Black Panther cast’s red carpet appearances have been so strong that we’re now paying very close attention.
Lupita Nyong’o, Angela Bassett and Tessa Thompson all shone at the Marvel film’s Los Angeles premiere, but this time around, it’s their co-star Danai Gurira who has us captivated.

This movie premiere had some seriously good red-carpet style…
These Lebanese LBDs stole the show at last night’s amfAR gala
The Zimbabwean-American actress chose Lebanese designer Jean-Louis Sabaji for the film’s London premiere, and she kind of blew us away.
Observe:
How is that an earthly human woman? Gurira looks like an extremely glamorous alien, or at least like she’s from a Las Vegas version of the future.
That is to say, we’re huge fans. The fit is impeccable and the peacock embellishment is to die for.
Here’s another few shots from Gurira’s Instagram.
May we direct you to her excellent hair and makeup? That berry lip and navy eyeliner combo is working so, so well.
Of course, Gurira isn’t the only star to make some good sartorial choices of late.
Here’s Hailey Baldwin looking typically amazing in Elie Saab pre-fall 2018. Love the mini length with that busy pattern – it keeps it from being too overwhelming.
Also wearing the Lebanese label is Winnie Harlow at a pre-Grammys bash a couple of weeks ago. We’re not sure how we missed this at the time – she looks like a mob wife in the best possible way.
And to finish, here’s another throwback (though not very far back.) Model Grace Mahary went for Lebanon’s Ashi Studio for the amFar gala last week.
We’ve covered the rest of that well-heeled event over here.
Keep watching the red carpets, people.
