Marina Mall will get a waterfront promenade and restaurant tower in this Dhs3 billion extension.
It sounds like we’ll soon be heading back and forth to Abu Dhabi, with the capital’s shopping scene set to get a fresh new look.
The city’s sea-side Marina Mall will undergo a Dhs3 billion makeover and expansion, it was revealed this week, with the destination set to welcome a host of new attractions.

As part of the project, a new waterfront promenade called Marina Walk will be created, which will add 123,000 square metres of leisure and entertainment to the Corniche.
It’ll also house Abu Dhabi’s first skate park, as well as a 546-metre stretch of coastal pathway, three helicopter pads, and 15,000 square metres of park space.
The promenade will also include a brand-new restaurant tower, which sounds like it’ll be a perfect spot for leisurely weekend dinners thanks to its Arabian Gulf views.
Overall, the mall will be expanded by 300,000 squares metres, with work starting in the second half of 2018, while upgrades to the shopping spot’s current facilities will kick off early next year.
Currently, Marina Mall has 122,000 square metres of retail space, spread out over five floors.
It hopes the makeover will increase visitors by 35 per cent, and a residential tower will also be added to the complex as part of the expansion.
