They say variety is the spice of life. If that’s the case then the Friday brunch at Mizaan, The H Hotel is one fiery hot pot of flavours. Decadence, quality and variety of choice are all key words here.Décor

Simple and chic. Marble flooring, sleek lines, a colour code of dark brown woods and beige accents, Mizaan is understated in style allowing its real substance – its food – take centre stage.

Food

You name it, they serve it and boy do they serve it well – the staff here are impeccable and swift.

While the emphasis is on quality, quantity is also high on the agenda; you won’t leave starving. Food is displayed across a series of vibrant buffets. For starters the two salad stations offering Mediterranean delights, from sundried tomatoes and grilled artichokes to mozzarella balls, crisp lettuces and anchovies, ensure all bases are covered. For mains, the hot plates are brimming with a choice of dishes from Indian curries, British roasts and Arabic delicacies – it truly takes you on a gastronomic adventure.

Want something more unique? Then the pasta chef will make you fresh lobster ravioli from scratch. Want something spicy? The fresh, made to order, shawarma induces a carb fest.

All this and we haven’t even started on the dessert, which has not one, but two stations. From chocolate mousses, to delicious pastries, moist cakes and, best of all, the soufflés, which are made there and then in front of you. Diets will have to be put on hold, as these sweet treats are too good to refuse.

The house beverage package is certainly generous. As well as table service you can explore the restaurant and enjoy a cocktail, bubbles, vino or bottle of hops at one of the three drink stations.

Ambience

Despite it’s setting in the hotel lobby, the feeling isn’t of a hotel entrance but rather a vast open, and welcome, restaurant. Its grand size makes it popular with big groups so the energy is buzzing.

Why bother

Great for taking visiting friends and family who want to try the ‘brunch experience’ but aren’t willing to fork out half a month’s wage for the pleasure. At Dhs288 for house beverages, cocktails and bubbles you certainly get value for money. The soft drinks package is Dhs188. Brunch runs from 12.30pm–4pm.

Go for

Great drinks and even better food shared with friends.
