Online travel agency Kiwi has produced a ranking showing which countries in the world offer the most and least expensive domestic and international flights.
The study took into consideration over 1 million international and domestic journeys – and sadly the UAE came out as the most expensive country on average for flying per 100km.

The Emirates are particularly pricey when it comes to domestic travel, mostly because there’s far fewer options compared to many other countries. After all, we’re a car-heavy community, and lots of our hot spots are a reasonable distance away from one another.
The cost of domestic flights were calculated by finding the average price of flights from a given country’s capital to up to five major cities, or a major city in a neighbouring country where no domestic flights were available. The international stats were calculated from the average cost of flying from a country’s capital to up to five international hubs within the same continent.
All flights were calculated from the same date (where possible) in both on and off seasons.
