Saudis arriving to the UAE over National Day weekend were welcomed to Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi Airport with sweets, flowers and Saudi flags.

Meanwhile, residents received 50% off attractions in Downtown Dubai, including the Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and Dubai Ice Rink.

The Beach, JBR, also held its first ever Saudi Cinema Weekend, featuring a number of award-winning short films by Saudi directors at Roxy Cinema. These included Mamdouh Salem’s biography of King Abdul Aziz Al Saud Desert Eagle and  Tawfik Alzaidi’s The Other, which touches on fatherhood and sacrifice.

The Burj Khalifa was no exception, celebrating the milestone in the most extravagant way: lighting up in the Saudi flag colours.
