Because really, there’s no need to be in the kitchen today.

It might not be a classic Christmas here in a lot of ways, but there’s no reason you can’t share a slightly over-the-top meal with your nearest and dearest.

Will there be snow? Well no. But there could well be a truly hideous festive jumper, and that’s what counts. These Dubai institutions (and new favourites) are putting on holiday meals you won’t want to miss.

One and Only Royal Mirage

one & only

There are a couple of options at this super-plush resort, but we’re thinking you could do worse than chandeliers and Palm views at Celebrities. Their white-glove (sounds fancy) Christmas day brunch includes oysters and smoked salmon as well as roast turkey with chestnut stuffing and black truffle sauce. Wow. It’ll set you back Dhs740 with drink pairings. Check out their full offering here (opens to a PDF).

Bulgari Resort

bulgari resort

Fancy Christmas at Dubai’s most expensive hotel? It’ll be a day to remember for sure. Both Il Cafe and Il Ristorante at Bulgari are offering Christmas day services, and they sound pretty fabulous. At Il Cafe, Natale brunch takes on a festive feel. It runs from Dhs450 with soft drinks to Dhs650 with house beverages. Il Ristorante’s three-Michelin-starred Chef Niko Romito has put together a four-course set menu that includes one glass of bubbly. It’s what Bella Hadid would do, and it’s Dhs650 per person. More details in this PDF.

If you’re after an elevated British Christmas dinner, this is your option. Award-winning chefs Nick Alvis and Scott Price have put together a special menu including barbecued chestnuts and a halibut course alongside the traditional turkey. It’s bound to be gorgeous, and it runs from 4-8pm on Christmas day.

Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa

brasserie2.0

Brasserie 2.0’s Friday brunch is one of our favourites, so we’re thinking their Christmas day offering will be special too. It’s a buffet (but much nicer than they sometimes are) so you’re free to pick and choose, plus the setting is truly lovely. For December 25, they’re putting on roast turkey, a live band, and an after-lunch party.

Brasserie 2.0, Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa, JBR. Packages from Dhs475 with soft drinks, Dhs625 with selected beverages, Dhs950 with sparkling.  Tel: (04) 316 5550. leroyalmeridien-dubai.com
