We have an important statement to make and it involves the UAE Government – we are just loving the new Minister of Happiness.

Not only does Ohood Al Roumi have the best job title ever, she is also a shining example of women’s rights in the region – she is one of eight women to take on top positions in the UAE government during the recent reshuffle – and last night she also proved she is a bona fide style icon. Seriously, this lady is stealing the show.

At a cabinet meeting yesterday, while being sworn in as a new minister in the UAE government, the politician, who was formerly Director-General of the Prime Minister Office, and the first Arab member of the Global Entrepreneurship Council, took to her new role with relish, accessorising her outfit with a very large necklace bearing the word Happy.

Not only was the kitsch necklace proof that the Mister of Happiness is ready to have fun (we’re guessing that’s essential for her job), but the choice of accessory was also a great insight into how fashion-forward she is. Why? Because the gold necklace is a Lanvin.

Finally, we have a politician that is style savvy and can speak fashion. Now that has made us very happy. Ohood Al Roumi your work here is done.

While the UAE has been voted as one of the happiest places to live in the world, according to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Al Roumi’s much-talked about role (it has caused a stir among international press) will entail  channelling “policies and plans to achieve a happier society” as well as “align and drive government policy to create social good and satisfaction.”

We can’t wait to see more of Ohood Al Roumi.
