Remember those days at school where a teacher invites your parents to come in and talk about what they do for a living?
It was always super-exciting when one of the parents did something cool like being a firefighter or an actor on a local TV show. But imagine how much cooler it would be if one of the parents was the ruler of Dubai.
For the kids at Kings’ School Dubai the latter was a reality when HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and his wife HH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein rocked up to their daughter Al Jalila Al Maktoum’s class. Their son Zayed, four, also attends the school.
The royal couple visited the school to celebrate World Teacher’s Day, and, unsurprisingly the pupils and teachers were delighted.

Princess Haya, who is our October cover star – read her rare and exclusive interview here – posted a sweet image of herself and Sheikh Mohammed in the class surrounded by very happy children.
“HH Sheikh Mohammed stopped in to say hello to Al Jalila’s class today!” the royal posted, later also praising the hard work of all the teachers.
You have probably already heard of Al Jalila’s name. That would be because the adorable nine year old has a foundation named after her. The Al Jalila foundation, was launched by Sheikh Mohammed and Princess Haya – it invests in medical research and education in the UAE.
On thing is for sure, if any of our bring your parent to school days are to go by, Al Jalila and Zayed certainly had the coolest parents and will no doubt be the most popular kids at school.
