The Crown Prince is back in town.
Last year, he challenged the city of Dubai to get moving with his 30 X 30 initiative, and HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s commitment to fitness looks to be ongoing.
Fresh off the back of a family trip to the United Kingdom, which saw him attend the first major horse race of the spring season with HH Sheikh Mohammed and HRH Princess Haya, the Crown Prince of Dubai is back home for the first ever Government Games.

Held at Kite Beach in Jumeirah, the games bring together 1,100 government employees from eight countries to compete for Dhs2 million in prizes.
On Wednesday, Sheikh Hamdan visited the course to walk through its 10 obstacles and have a chat with a few of the participants.
Here’s a look at what they’re facing:
Well, we’re impressed. That doesn’t look like our typical day at the beach.
Looks like a visit from HH Sheikh Hamdan kept competitors going, though.
Wednesday’s event was a qualifying round in the women’s section, with six teams progressing to the finals to be held on May 12.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority were the top qualifies, followed by Dubai Health Authority, Dubai Municipality, U.S. Consulate General in Dubai, and the Ministry of Education.
The games, held under HH Sheikh Hamdan’s patronage, aim to build team spirit in government departments by pitting employees against tough physical and mental challenges.
Men’s teams will compete on Thursday and Friday ahead of Saturday’s finals.
We’re wishing all teams the very best of luck.
