It was only a few days ago that we revealed just how awesomely accessible Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is, well recent pictures of the royal with son further prove our point.
Sheikh Mohammed joined his son Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai on a journey through the London Underground, taking a seat on the tube.

While seemingly flanked by body guards – you would hope so anyway when Sheikh Mohammed’s wealth estimated to be in excess of US$15 billion – the laid back UAE sheikhs were dressed in their formal wear and posed for selfies, with Sheikh Hamdan uploading them to his Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts.
Sheikh Mohammed is renowned for being one with the people, only recently he was spotted cycling along Dubai’s popular Al Qudra track and is famous for stopping to talk to fans and locals. So taking public transport when he could be commuting in one of his own swanky vehicles, was not too much of a surprise.
Yet, it was no doubt a great surprise for London commuters, after all it’s not every day you get to share a royal carriage. Here’s a short video of the very special journey:
