The singer-songwriter will make his UAE debut at Yas Island’s du Arena in November.

Ready, set, fangirl… British hitmaker Sam Smith is coming to the UAE!

The artist behind emotionally-charged hits like Lay Me Down, Stay With Me and I’m Not the Only One will take to the stage at Yas Island’s du Arena on November 24 as part of the Yasalam After-Race Concerts during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

He is the third headliner to be announced, after Canadian megastar The Weeknd (who will perform on November 23) and rock legends Guns N’ Roses (who will close the shows on November 25).

Smith first rose to fame as the vocalist on the Disclosure’s Latch in 2012, and went on to win four Grammys for his 2014 debut album, In The Lonely Hour.

The singer, who is sometimes described as the “male Adele”, provided the theme song to the 2015 James Bond film Spectre, before releasing his second album, The Thrill of It All, in 2017. His fourth single from that album, Baby, You Make Me Crazy, was only released last week.

We’ll be there with waterproof mascara on. This is already shaping up to be one of the biggest gigs of the year… and there’s still one more artist to be announced. Who could it be?
