Review: Nola Eatery & Social House, Jumeirah Lake Towers
Can’t make it to the legendary Mardi Gras in New Orleans in February? Then try the next best thing at Dubai’s Nola Eatery & Social House.
Battered brown leather sofas, mismatched tables and chairs and wicker stools make for a snug café vibe. It’s décor that says: “Come on in and make yourself at home.” The low-lying lamps made up of oversized exposed bulbs enhance its unpretentious feel.
Given the gorgeous weather we’re currently being spoiled with, we recommend pulling up a pew in the convivial courtyard.
As the name suggests, it’s very social, making it a popular watering hole for the after-work crowd. The service is excellent and the buzzing atmosphere will ensure you stay long after your usual bedtime.
Nola Eatery & Social House is a great way to get acquainted with Southern Louisiana’s cuisine. Get stuck into spicy guacamole, empanadas stuffed with black eyed peas, blackened salmon with cajun spices and jambalaya – they do both seafood and vegetarian options.
It’s reasonably priced and full of young, good-looking people out to have a good time.
