The buzz surrounding New York natives Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne’s label Public School is so loud it’s deafening. Recently appointed as creative directors at DKNY their collections have become a real fixture on the NYFW schedule, and now they have chosen Dubai to stage their inaugural collection.

Today the designer duo, Public School will showcase their inaugural pre-fall collection in Dubai at an A-list event in partnership with Cadillac – the collaboration will also promote the first-ever 2017 Cadillac XT5.

The show in Dubai will mark Public School’s first international runway show, with the collection becoming available in 2016.

Earlier this year Cadillac launched a specially curated capsule collection chosen and styled by fashion icon Nick Wooster, who interestingly enough models in Public School’s spring/summer 2016 campaign (see gallery below), and will also be attending their debut showcase in Dubai. In fact the street style star has already been sharing his expeditions in the region on Instagram.

“We’ve never been to Dubai before but we’re super-excited to see it first hand – we’ve heard it’s like a more extravagant version of Vegas,” Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne said to Emirates Woman ahead of their arrival. “There’ll be a lot of prep work once we’re there but we’re hoping to get some sand dune buggies and drive them to Abu Dhabi!”

“We’ve never shown outside NYC before,” added the duo, “and we’re so linked to the city, so it’s kind of bittersweet for us to not show there. The Dubai opportunity was something we couldn’t pass up. It’s a real luxury for us to be able to do a destination show but I don’t think it’s something we’ll do going forward. Not in the near future.”
