The Bollywood icon hopes her role opened doors for women of colour in Hollywood.
Priyanka Chopra has bid an emotional farewell to TV show Quantico.
The show aired its series finale last week, after running for three seasons. Chopra played FBI agent Alex Parrish, making history as the first South Asian actress to headline an American TV series.
To mark its end, the Bollywood star shared an Instagram post paying tribute to the show’s legacy.
“As this season ends, I am saying goodbye to Alex Parrish,” she penned. “As you’ll see, her story will come full circle… and that is the best feeling as an actor.”
The former Miss World expressed her hope that her role might have opened doors for women of colour in a notoriously difficult industry.
“Even more significantly, it has (I hope) cracked the door open for female talent and women of colour to play leading ladies.”
