Little Phoebe “made my day”, the royal revealed.
HRH Princess Haya bint Al Hussein’s humanitarian work has been well documented, but her most recent encounter melted more hearts than usual.
The royal inaugurated Mediclinic City Hospital’s new Comprehensive Cancer Centre this week in Dubai Healthcare City, where she met with doctors, nurses and volunteers.
However it was Princess Haya’s exchange with a young toddler which made a lasting impression, the royal revealed on Instagram.

Sharing an image of the event, the royal wrote that she was touched to meet many cancer survivors, “and the lovely little Phoebe who made my day with a beautiful play dough heart”.
Described as Dubai’s most advanced facility for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, the centre was built in collaboration with Mediclinic’s sister platform in Switzerland.
Wearing a golden floor-length dress, Princess Haya toured the facility with some of the centre’s medical team.

“Congratulations to the entire team at Mediclinic City Hospital for all the wonderful work you continue to do,” she said on Instagram.
The mum-of-two often pays offficial visits to Dubai hospitals, recently dropping into the Al Jalila Specialty Hospital with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, during the British royal’s visit to the emirate last year.
While at the hospital, the Duchess signed a partnership with Princess Haya between Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, UK and Al Jalila.
Camilla, who described the facility as “brilliant”, shared a giggle with HRH as the two signed the agreement.
