These racegoers didn’t let the rain and wind dampen their style on the big day.

It’s one of the world’s richest horse races, so it’s no surprise that the Dubai World Cup also attracted a wealth of style.

The annual event took place on Saturday at the Meydan Racecourse, with royals, socialites and celebrities in attendance.

Unfortunately also in attendance was some inclement weather, with rain, winds and thunderstorms rattling the city.

However racegoers didn’t let it put them off pulling out all the style stops on the day, with many just adding a colourful umbrella to the mix.

So, with no further ado, here are some of our favourite looks from this year’s Dubai World Cup…

Last year’s best hat winner, Ana Pribylova, wins this year’s Best dressed lady

Let’s start with the newly-crowned Best Dressed Female on the day (a title rightly earned). We’re particularly taken with the sheeny fabric, Fifties off-shoulder cut, and architectural origami-esque hat.

And taking the crown for the boys is this dapper gentleman in a head-turning three-piece suit. We’ve never seen so many bold salmon shades layered together, but we’re digging it…

Nancy Ajram’s monochromatic halterneck looked vintage-style chic but also incredibly of-the-moment.

This fella’s mostly-white ensemble was a daring choice amid a downpour… but the risk definitely paid off.

Spring-ready lemon yellow was just the tonic needed on a dreary day.

The scalloped trim takes this dress from simple to statement-making.

What a day and what a night!!! This was my first ever time at the Dubai World Cup after almost 11 years in Dubai (I was always either working with Emirates and away or pregnant ) so never got a chance to go. It was truly amazing to see in person the richest horse race in the world , an UNBELIEVABLE fireworks display (Dubai does incredible fireworks that’s for sure) and the highlight for me…….seeing Sia perform live! She put on quite the theatrical show and sounded soooo good . . . #ootd #lotd #dubaiworldcup #dubai #meydan #style #fashion #horseracing #instagood #fashionblogger #fblogger #ginghamandsparkle #instamood #photooftheday #picoftheday #instalike #instalike #monochrome #black #white #sia #fireworks #amazing #love #richesthorseraceintheworld

The Bardot was easily the neckline of the day, but this gal stood out from the crowd with a tailored jumpsuit in a bold, block jewel hue.

Our favourite hat of the day by a country mile.

We’ve been lusting after this Zayan The Label dress ourselves.

Top marks for use of texture.

Pastel and jewel tones might have dominated the day, but we’ll always have a soft spot for gothic-inspired florals.

This lady definitely dialled up the drama.

Say hello to our new wedding-guest dress of choice.

Off to the races 🐎💃🏼
