Arab designers ruled the runway, as per.

This season’s Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week hasn’t exactly been short of wow moments – we saw the first Saudi supermodel take to the runway and watched a brilliant Moroccan designer make his Paris debut.

But the true stars of the show are obviously the creations themselves – and no one does “extra” quite like designers from this region. Here are some of our favourite looks.

RAMI AL ALI

We love everything about this gown, from the strapless princess style to the way those golden blocks cascade into the cornflower-blue like a beautiful game of Tetris. Stunning work from the Dubai-based designer.

ZIAD NAKED

Lebanese designer Ziad Naked has that extremely rare ability to make sheer fabric look tasteful and elegant. Just look at the attention to detail on these sapphire numbers.

GEORGES CHAKRA

Who knew tangerine and magenta made such perfect bedfellows? The legendary Georges Chakra, that’s who.

ELIE SAAB

The Lebanese King of Couture was inspired by the Modernist architecture of Antoni Gaudi for his Fall 2018 collection, and this eye-catching creation was a true masterpiece. Also, it has pockets. Need we say more?

ZUHAIR MURAD

Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad looked to Imperial Russia for his collection, and this embroidered bridal gown is fit for a true Queen.

GEORGES HOBEIKA

The dress might be pure Swan Lake, but the eyeliner is full Black Swan. Natalie Portman would be proud.

ASHI STUDIO

Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi’s designs are more like pieces of origami than clothing. We wouldn’t necessarily wear it to work, but like a true piece of art, we love admiring it from afar.
