We’re so pleased to have them here.
When we heard back in February that luxury online retailer Farfetch was launching in the region, we were a combination of excited and terrified.
It’s great news for our wardrobes, sure, but it’s terrible news for our bank balances.

Well, Farfetch Middle East is live in both English and Arabic, and we were right to be afraid. It’s packed with very, very tempting offerings from brands like Off White, Balenciaga, Monse, and Gucci.
To say hello to this new market, the brand has teamed up with British-Moroccan model Nora Attal (one of our favourites here at Emirates Woman) and style influencer Leena Al Ghouti.
Attal stars in an editorial for the site, wearing Gucci, Prada and Balenciaga, and Al Ghouti has pulled together a super-cool modest edit.
“As one of the largest luxury markets in the world, the Middle East is so important to Farfetch,” the brand’s founder and CEO José Neves said.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring our customers in the region an unrivalled range of beautiful products that they can’t find anywhere else from around the world.”
Back when the move was first announced, Neves told Business of Fashion he thought the Middle East was underserved in terms of online retail, and planned to expand very quickly in our part of the world.

“You’re talking about a population that is growing and very digitally savvy. They’re very big shoppers of fashion and luxury in general, very well-travelled, very well-educated and connected — their usage of social media is incredible,” he said.
The company has teamed up with Chalhoub Group, who are behind Level Shoes and Tryano. They’re one of the big names in terms of luxury retail in the region.
Farfetch sells women’s and menswear from established brands, as well as emerging names. Known for their carefully curated edits and knack for finding the coolest boutiques around the world, the site and app are a very easy place to fill a shopping cart.
So check the site out—but we won’t take any responsibility for your blown budget.
