Dust off your wedding hats – this is likely the closest we’ll get to confirmation…

Unless you’ve been taking part in some kind of digital detox this summer, you’ll have heard about Nick Jonas and Bollywood icon Priyanka Chopa’s rumoured engagement.

Neither have confirmed the news – we’re still waiting for Nick to share how exactly he proposed on the ‘gram. Priyanka’s Tiffany & Co. ring sadly hasn’t been sighted on our feeds, either.

But could a recent fan encounter be the closest we’ll get to confirmation?

According to Us Weekly, a partygoer at a Nick Jonas for John Varvatos event in New York on August 8 approached the singer to congratulate him on his engagement. Nick reportedly responded: “Thanks, man.”

The Jealous singer reportedly popped the question to the Bollywood star while the two were in London celebrating her 36th birthday on July 18. Nick is said to have shut down a Tiffany & Co. store so he could purchase the engagement ring.

The couple first made headlines in May 2017, when they attended the Met Gala together. However, Priyanka denied there was any romance involved, telling Jimmy Kimmel: “We were on the same table. I mean, we know each other, so we were just like, ‘hey, you know what, let’s go together,’ and I was like, ‘ok, let’s go together.’ And it just ended up working out.”

Things became more serious in June this year, when Nick took Priyanka to his cousin’s wedding. Later that month, the couple spent a week together in India, where Nick met Priyanka’s family.

Chopra and Jonas aren’t the only couple to have got engaged after a whirlwind romance. Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin surprised everyone with their engagement last month after rekindling their romance in May, while Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson got engaged in June after one month of dating.
