How to have the best New Year’s Eve in Dubai

Save money

Living in an exciting city like Dubai, makes it a little bit hard to put some money aside. Therefore, this year make saving money a priority. There are a few ways that you could accomplish this. Firstly, get a savings account and put a certain amount from your earnings into it each month. This amount could later go towards an investment like getting a new car or renting a new apartment. Secondly, make a budget list of how much you should spend each week. Keeping track of your spending helps you know what you are spending your money on, and keeps you from going overboard.

Travel more

Traveling is a great way to expose yourself to different cultures. You may think that planning a trip would require extensive planning, but you can plan a quick trip over a long-weekend. One of the perks of being a UAE resident, is that there are a few countries that you could travel to with just your Emirates ID – no need to go through the hassle of getting a visa!

Get fit

Due to the weather and way of life, you may notice that you do not move a lot in Dubai. Therefore, it is important for you to carve out some time during the week to perform some exercise, even if it is just walking. Consistency is key, so find a healthy program that you could stick to, and start working towards getting in shape.

Eat healthier

With so many cuisine options, it may seem like eating healthy is an impossible task. However, there are several things you could do to help you follow a healthy eating habit. For instance, you could cook more, and prepare meal preps during the weekend, so you could take home-cooked meals to the office. Also, if you like snacking, you could prepare snack packets containing fruits or vegetables to take with you to the office.

Discover the UAE

Dubai is such a diverse city that you lose yourself in, to the point that many residents could spend years in the country and not visit other Emirates. So, how about you escape the city in 2019, and get a change of scenery by visiting other Emirates whenever you get the chance. There are so many sights to see over the UAE, like Al Jazirat Al Hamra in Ras Al Khaimah, which is a small abandoned village that is rumored to be haunted byjinns the shape of animals.

Pick up a new hobby

There are so many activities and new things that you could experience in the city. For instance, you can pick up ice-skating as a hobby to escape the heat during the summer, with ice-rinks in Dubai Mall and Leisure land. Also, if you are a fan of extreme sports, then maybe you could try out sky-diving or zip lining to get your blood pumping.

Get cultured

Dubai has become somewhat of a hub for art galleries, and there is always a gallery opening or event taking place. So, this year you could immerse yourself, and get involved in one of the many events that are taking place every week around the city. Go out, experience new things, and support and appreciate local artists.

Spend less time on your phone

In this day and age, we spend more time on our phones rather than experiencing life around us. You could be in a gathering, and next the person next to you instead of talking face-to-face. Therefore, this year you should make it a priority to spend more time communicating with loved ones.

Meet new people

The UAE is such a diverse country with more than 200 nationalities calling it home. With 2019 being officially named the Year of Tolerance, you should make more of an effort to meet and get to know people from different backgrounds. So this year, overcome your shyness and get to know new and interesting people.

Put yourself first

Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, you should always put yourself and your mental health first. It is very easy to forget yourself and get lost in your responsibilities and commitments. Try to take at least a-day-a-week for yourself.

We wish you a happy and healthy 2019
