The first TV channel in the region dedicated to health and fitness has launched.
Physique TV has a range of programmes in Arabic and English, which are dedicated to healthy living. With acquired programming as well as in-house productions, viewers can expect shows to range from fitness-orientated reality TV and news formats to MMA coverage and yoga instruction.
With obesity and health issues being a major initiative in the region, General Manager of Physique TV, Peter Einstein, says they have full support of the government. “Our region is in need of something like this to tackle health problems,” he explains. “Everybody enjoys TV, so this is a great way to get people thinking a little bit more about what they’re eating and how they’re taking care of themselves.”
Peter says that he aims to introduce more Arabic language programmes to the channel, and hopes to create an in-house reality TV format at some stage.
Physique TV is available on Arabsat via MyHD and on cable platforms including Du and E-Life.
