Two of the world’s most celebrated icons have joined forces to create the perfect collector’s item: Platinum-label Barbie Lagerfeld doll.
She’s the most metrosexual Barbie to date and yet she’s easily one of the most glamorous. Clad head-to-toe in Karl Lagerfeld’s signature monochromatic uniform, the celebrated designer’s collaboration with Mattel involves what must surely be the world’s tiniest pair of fingerless gloves.
Part of the Barbie Collector series, the seriously stylish doll brilliantly encapsulates the rock ‘n’ roll style of the German couturier dressed in a tailored black jacket, a white shirt with a high collar – complete with French cuffs – and skinny black jeans. Accessories are key, including an oversized necktie, dark sunglasses, black ankle boots, a leather purse and chunky silver jewellery – all topped off with a slicked-back silver ponytail.
