He casually gave the film a shout-out
Nadine Labaki took over the world these past few months, with her Oscar nominated film Capernaum. Not only had the film garnered endless award nominations, it also got lots of love and support from Hollywood A-listers ensuring the momentum is maintained.
It all started when the one-and-only, Oprah Winfrey, sang her praises for the film on Twitter, tweeting, “These 2 are so compelling on screen and worthy of your time. Story of a young boy who sues his parents for having children they can’t take care of. Makes you think of all the children for whom this story is a daily reality. Bravo team #Capernaum.” Not only that, but weeks before the Academy Award’s Oprah invited Nadine and her producer husband, Khaled Mouzanar, for lunch.

Now it seems like Coldplay’s frontman, Chris Martin, has joined the film’s fan-club. In a Twitter post, the 42-year-old singer shared with fans his current favourite music – and then he casually named dropped Capernaum. Nadine shared the tweet on her Instagram, writing, “How cool is that ! Thank you @coldplay ! ❤️@capharnaumthefilm@khaledmouzanar #capernaum.” We love seeing the continued love for this film!

Other fans of the film include Marvel’s Josh Brolin, who shared a lengthy post on Instagram about the film, which he captioned, “Finally! A film reminding me why I loved films in the first place; why I loved those late night stories told to me; why I knew I was fortunate to be able to make the decision to travel, get out of my comfort zone, and see that there were many different cultures, goings on, realities of poverty and desperation as well as care and altruism first ignited by the power of film, the power of storytelling. “
