The art expo first opened in the Croatian capital of Zagreb in 2015, and since then has travelled all over the world. Following its stint in Dubai the show will go on to tour Oman.
There’s set to be more than 80 exhibitions at the show. Highlights include the Vortex Tunnel, a rotating cylinder that tricks the brain that thinking the ground their feet is shifting. The Ames Room, which gives the illusion that visitors are either shrinking or growing, depending on where they stand.
Best of all, unlike traditional museums, visitors are encouraged to interact and touch exhibit displays.
“The Museum of Illusions Dubai exhibits have been carefully selected to ensure the widest possible appeal to the city’s uniquely cosmopolitan residents and international tourists,” said Varvara Svischeva, the manager of Museum of Illustrations Dubai.
Seven other cities are set to host the museum later this year, including New York, Toronto and Berlin.
The Museum of Illustrations will open on 12 September from 2pm so get your ‘gram ready.
