An ode to the 70s!
The Michael Kors show at New York Fashion Week last night was a shoutout to the 70s, with Barry Manilow brining the crowd to its feet with his performance of ‘Copacabana.’ The disco themed show included three Arab models – Bella Hadid, the face of the brand’s latest campaign, her older sister Gigi Hadid, and Nora Attal.

The American brand closed NYFW with a bang, as his show was full of surprises. Other than the surprise performance from the legend Barry, who’s career spanned more than 50 years, the show also included an appearance from 62-year-old supermodel Patti Hansen.
The Fall 2019 Ready-to-wear collection featured everything from oversized coats lined with feather boas, to hats and head wraps, and to sparkly dresses in purple and blue. Most of the pieces are embellished with ruffles, feathers, fringe – nailing that 70s vibe.
On the runway, Gigi Hadid wore a black floral maxi-skirt, and a black and purple stripped shirt, which is covered by a grey jacket, with a silver glittery belt. Gigi’s usually straight hair was turned into a frizzy curly mane, with a bedazzled head piece with a net.

Also walking the runway is Gigi’s younger sister Bella. The two sisters sported very different looks, as the young Hadid wore a black sparkling blazer dress, with feathers on the sleeves. The 22-year-old Palestinian-American had on fish-net stockings, and high-heeled sandals with feathers on the back.

The third Arab on the catwalk was Moroccan-British model, Nora Attal. The 19 year-old’s look was slightly similar to Bella, as she stunned in a floor length black sequin dress, with a plunging v neck. Her look also featured feathers around the knees, while her hair was styled into big voloumous curls.
