This Michael Cinco bridal gown is somewhere beyond gorgeous
The American actress stole the show in a cobalt blue gown by Dubai-based couturier Michael Cinco, with the ornate piece catching the camera’s gaze with its smattering of Swarovski crystals.
Janney scooped the Best Supporting Actress gong on the night for her role as figure-skater Tonya Harding’s mother in the biopic (a role that’s already scored her the same title at last week’s Golden Globes).
Cinco, who’s originally from the Philippines, later took to social media to congratulate the “sensational” Janney on her win, adding that the star looked “statuesque” in his design.
The designer, who has dressed royal brides, Grammy-winning singers and Bollywood icons, has been stealing the style spotlight in the States of late, also kitting out actress and singer Victoria Justice for last week’s Art of Elysium Heaven gala.
Cinco wasn’t the only designer from the region to dress an award-winner at this year’s Critics’ Choice either, with The Marvelous Mrs Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan turning to Zuhair Murad for her look.
The US star, who scooped the Best Actress in a Comedy Series trophy, donned a soft pink sequinned number from the Lebanese label, featuring delicate straps, an ankle-skimming hemline and silver shimmering details.
Even though heavily encrusted, the dress still manages to look romantically ethereal (and that’s no easy feat).
With Middle Eastern designers dominating the 2018 awards season red carpets already, we’re putting bets on which labels will make an appearance at the Academy Awards in March.
In the meantime, here’s the best of the rest from the Critics’ Choice red (well, blue) carpet…
