The question is, who will design them?

We’ve already devoted considerable mental energy to figuring out who Meghan Markle will wear on her wedding day, and now, there are two dresses to consider.

The Suits actress and soon-to-be bride of Britain’s Prince Harry will wear a super-formal gown for her May 19 wedding ceremony before changing into something a little more laid back for the reception, Vanity Fair reports.

Will Meghan wear a Middle Eastern designer on her big day?

There’s a precedent for such a move – Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge did the same for her 2011 wedding to Prince Harry’s older brother, Prince William.

Both of the Duchess’s looks were designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, but there’s every chance Markle could mix it up and opt for two fashion houses.

And who are the frontrunners?

Well, back in February French designer Roland Mouret told WWD that he “didn’t want to say” if he was dressing her.

“No comment. It’s…there is no comment on that. She’s a friend. And that’s…I can’t say,” he continued, in one of the least convincing denials we’ve ever heard.

Mouret has dressed Markle a number of times, too. The pair met in a lift in Istanbul years ago, and have remained firm friends. We wouldn’t rule him out.

However, as the Daily Mail reports, Burberry has since emerged as a strong potential candidate.

There have been some serious meetings going down with outgoing designer Christopher Bailey and the brand’s PR team, the site reports, and of course the American Markle would score points for picking a UK brand.

Lebanese Elie Saab is on the list too. Markle told Glamour in 2016 “I will always be a fan of Elie Saab,” while discussing options for her Suits character. He’s our pick, but maybe we’re a little biased.

Of course, it’s all speculation until Markle steps into view at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19.

Reportedly, Prince Harry doesn’t even know who she’s wearing.

Whoever does end up in the spotlight, we now know they’ve got two designs to perfect.
